The Big Cat at Fauldhouse

Also known as: Beast of West Lothian

Fauldhouse

December 1995 and November 1999

The Scottish Big Cats site reproduces a report by Mark Fraser, who wrote that Thomas, his wife and son saw the animal behind the football park and that a few other people had also seen it. The animal was the size of an Alsatian, black, very muscular at the back end, with a long bushy tail.

The November 1999 report is of a brown cat with a round face, about the size of a spaniel, stocky and agile, half a mile from Fauldhouse on the road towards Glasgow, seen rummaging through black rubbish bags. It headed into a coniferous wood. The witness was unaware of other sightings, and the site notes that most reports from the area describe a black animal.
