Camping on Herm means sleeping on a hillside above the sea on an island that empties of day visitors every evening. The camper in this report was a seasonal worker, living on the island for the summer. What she saw was specific: two women in the long dress and aprons of old-fashioned nurses, walking towards her tent. It was the sound that stayed with her, the swish of heavy skirts over the grass.
PIGS offers no explanation and names no one. It is one of the more unusual Herm reports because it has nothing to do with monks. Nurses are a common figure in hospital hauntings, but no hospital is recorded on Herm in the sources used here.
The campsite is on the high ground inland from the harbour. The map point is approximate.
