A letter to the Morning Chronicle dated 2 January 1819, quoted by Wikipedia, says it had long been believed locally that unseen hands brought Jacob's pillow from Bethel and dropped it where Scone Palace now stands, and that Edward I had only been sent a representation of it. The Latin prophecy attributed to Fordun in 1383 says the Scots shall reign wherever the stone is placed. The Stone is now displayed in Perth Museum, and the coordinates are for the Moot Hill at Scone where it was used.
