The Wax Shirt of the Nicholsons of Scorrybreck

Scorrybreck, Isle of Skye

Told before 1900

They had a wax shirt, Leine Cheir, which, because of the friendship between them and the chief of the Macleods, was sent for from Dunvegan on every occasion of a death.

The custom sits in his chapter on funerals. Whether the shirt survives is not recorded in his book.
