The Puma at the Whitburn Farm

Also known as: Beast of West Lothian

A farm near Whitburn

Summer 1973

The account is from Ronnie Patterson's Scottish Mystery Cat Sightings. Mrs Hall said she was at the window some time after seven in the evening when she saw the animal cross the farmyard. She ran out and followed it for a mile over the country, and it was light brown, bigger than an Alsatian, with a square shaped head. She later heard reports of sightings in the north of Scotland and of sheep being killed.

The report is recalled after the event and cannot be checked. The pin is placed on Whitburn and is approximate.
