The Serpent Water of Applecross

Applecross, Wester Ross

Told before 1900

The patient was not to see the water. The note sits in a passage on the belief that the head of one serpent in water cures a sting from another, and on the white serpent whose juice gave the physician Farquhar his healing skill.

Campbell gives no date or name for the Applecross man. It is a thin local item from the same district where the 1656 minutes record holed-stone divination.
