The Suicide's Grave and the Missing Herring

Applecross and Skye (no grave named)

Told before 1900

He adds that it was believed in the north, as in Skye and about Applecross in Ross-shire, that no herring would be caught in any part of the sea that could be seen from the grave of a suicide.

The custom is a documented belief rather than a story about a particular person, so no site is named.
