The Lady in the Jeweller's Workroom, Portadown

Mandeville Street, Portadown

2005

In 2005 a jeweller working on Mandeville Street in Portadown reported seeing a mysterious woman in the work room of his shop. He described her as about 5 feet 8 inches tall with white or silvery hair, wearing a black dress with a white apron. She appeared at least three times, and he began to have poltergeist activity in the shop at around the same time.

He suggested two explanations. One was that she was Ma Berry, who once ran a local pub called the Manchester Arms. The other was that she was a spirit displaced when a neighbouring building was demolished.

The jeweller has since moved and the premises are now offices. Spirited Isle invites any current occupants to say whether she remains.
