The brothers said they had five older, wealthier and more handsome brothers in Ireland who would come to marry the eldest five. Seasons passed and nobody came. The father consulted a wizard in Coire Dhuinnid, in Inverinate Forest, who said the brothers did not exist and warned the daughters they would grow old and haggard if they insisted on waiting.
When they refused to accept this, the wizard told them to go to the head of Loch Duich. They were turned into mountains, forever watching over the loch. The page, published in 2022, credits no older source.
