In the 1950s a young boy was staying with relatives who rented a large house in Lenaderg, a small village near Banbridge. At evening his aunt asked him to bring in the washing from the line in the back garden. As he gathered it he noticed a white figure moving silently across the lawn toward him. He dropped everything and ran inside and said nothing about it.
Years later, at a reunion, the talk turned to the old house and he asked his aunt whether she had ever seen anything strange there. To his surprise she said she had. She had seen the same white figure in the garden and had been so disturbed that she gave up the tenancy soon afterwards. Nobody ever learned who or what it was.
