When the surviving brother came home on leave he decided to exhume the coffins and take them by water to the far end of the loch for burial at Killin. The night before the reburial, two bright balls of fire were seen rolling along the surface of the loch on the course the boat took next day. MacGregor says a man from Glen Lochay who saw the sight was still alive not long before he wrote. It is a typical foretelling light, with no dates given. Only the first part of the route lies in Perth and Kinross, and Killin is outside the council area.
