The Fainting Servant of Knockow

Knockow and Bornesketaig, Trotternish (positions approximate)

1703 account

One of the household who had the second sight said the cause was strange. An ill-natured woman, whom he named, from the adjacent village of Bornskittag, had come before the man in a furious way, her face full of passion and her mouth full of reproaches, threatening him with her head and hands until he fell over.

She had a fancy for the man and was likely to be disappointed about marrying him. Martin says the master of the family and others who were present told him this.
